TEMPO is a French music producer based in Ghana who has, impressively, educated himself on several different aspects of professional music production. Fed up with the uninspired repetitiveness of mainstream music, TEMPO decided that he wanted to make music he could enjoy and find meaning in.

Teaching yourself how to produce music from scratch is an incredibly difficult task, but TEMPO did it and has thrived ever since. Because of his success in teaching himself, he realised that he could help other independent artists realise their potential and establish themselves through his mentoring service.

Regarding his personal music career, TEMPO started off by self-promoting 4 instrumental tracks. While great listening material in of themselves, these tracks were also designed to attract collaborators, showing off what TEMPO was capable of. This has paid off, and TEMPO is now in discussion with a variety of artists on potential collaborations.

TEMPO’s first collaboration, ‘Self ft. Kubla Khan & Shelly Segal’, is a great vocal duet with a  strong backing track that really resonates emotionally. It’s a very impressive track when you consider that all 3 artists had to work remotely since they all live in different countries.

The track has already started gaining momentum of streaming platforms and has earnt TEMPO and even wider fanbase that is hungry for me. With more great collaborations in the pipeline, everyone should be eager for what comes next for this intrepid music producer.

What Happened To Australian Hard Dance Festival IQON?

Australia has long been home to a relatively small but passionate hard dance fanbase. This fanbase has loyally attended the Australia edition of famous Dutch festival DEFQON 1 for many years. Eventually, the loyalty of Australians was rewarded with a Q-Dance event of their own (Q-Dance being the company that creates DEFQON 1), and it was named IQON.

However, anyone who knows their hard dance history will recognise that IQON only occurred once in 2013 and never returned as promised. IQON was meant to be the start of a new Australian-exclusive hard dance festival – so what happened?

1.   Poor ticket sales

Ultimately, IQON underperformed in ticket sales. It is speculated that this was because many people wanted to go to the Australian DEFQON festival and could only afford a ticket to that event.

2.   Poor weather

On the day of IQON (mid-April), it was raining heavily, and this generally ruined the experience many people expected.

3.   Technical difficulties

There were a lot of technical issues for the festival, including a loss of music from Headhunterz set for over 10 minutes. Headhunterz was one of the biggest names on the line-up, so this loss of time from his set was not taken well by fans.
