EDM is certainly becoming a major genre in music and there is even a heap of music festivals right around the world dedicated to this type of music. There are a lot of different artists in this space that has captivated the world and have huge followings.

While EDM may not be everyone’s cup of tea, if you like to party and dance, then you have probably heard of, or even love what EDM music can bring to the table. There are a lot of different artists, all with their unique sound that makes them special and stands out. A lot of these artists are now or becoming household names.

With so many artists in EDM, it is difficult to narrow it down to just the best of the best. But, have a read on below at some of the most popular artists in the EDM space at the moment:

 

Martin Garrix

Remember the 2013 hit Animals? Well, that was the work of Martin Garrix. Over the past few years, he has only managed to become even more popular and has worked with a number of high profile artists to create some awesome new hits. He has worked with the likes of Khalid on Ocean and Scared To Be Lonely with Dua Lipa.

 

Swedish House Mafia

Their first major hit was with One in 2010, and boy it was a big one! This catchy tune was played at clubs all around the world. After that smash hit, Swedish House Mafia released songs like Don’t You Worry Child and Save The World that managed to take the world by storm. Save The World was even nominated for a Grammy.

 

Avicii

Avicii still deserves a spot on this list for the most popular artists, despite passing away a few years ago. He was instrumental in bringing EDM music into mainstream. He quickly become the headline act at a stack of music festivals right around the world and his first hit, Levels, is still loved my many to this day.

 

Skrillex

No list on the most popular EDM artists would be complete without Skrillex. He took dubstep and helped make in more mainstream, with his EP, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. He has also won a stack of Grammys, eight to be exact, and he has managed to do collaborations with a number of popular artists including Justin Bieber.

 

Calvin Harris

He is a major player in the EDM space and now artists are seeking him out to do collaborations with. He has teamed up with a whole heap of popular artists, some of which including Dua Lipa, Sam Smith and Rhianna. His hits like Summer, My Way, Blame, We Found Love are all still listened to today. Calvin Harris is a staple at any major music festival and has won a number of awards for his work.

 

The Chainsmokers

This duo is known for their live performances, and like them or not, they still produce awesome music that people want to dance to. They have had a few massive hits over the past few years with songs like Roses, Don’t Let Me Down and Closer. These hits were not only big in the EDM space but they also managed to top the pop charts as well.

 

Armin van Buuren

He has won DJ Mag’s number one DJ four times and he was even nominated for a Grammy for his tune This Is What It Feels Like. He has been able to remain so successful as he has changed and evolved as EDM has. If you ever get the chance, you should certainly go see him live.
