Any avid hard dance fan should know about the legendary duo Showtek. The brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen make up the duo, and they’ve had a long and storied career in making music since their beginnings in the early 2000s.
In 2007, they launched their first album ‘Today Is Tomorrow’ on the label Dutch Master Works, and their second album ‘We Live for Music’ on the same label in 2008. Their next LP was titled ‘Analogue Players in a Digital World’ in 2009.
While playing at many of the biggest hard dance festivals like Defqon 1 over their early years, they eventually moved away from heavy bass music. They collaborated on tracks with the likes of Tiesto, David Guetta, and Hardwell amongst many others. This angered some fans in the hard dance scene and earnt them many criticisms of having ‘sold out’, with a perception they had abandoned their roots to chase profit.
Their collaboration with David Guetta ‘Bad’ was their highest charting song to date. The following tracks they made with David Guetta also made it to the Top 20 US dance chart.
Showtek will always be a legendary and revered name in the minds of hard dance lovers around the world. Their track “FTS” is a well-known anthem in the hard dance scene and essential listening for any new fans.
